Pictures are Below!

Yesterday:
Slept in till 11 . Had a late breakfast and then went to the Tec. Tried to attend the meeting we were supposed to, but it was jam packed. So we went to get our schedules. Turns out there was some sort of problem with mine and I had to go clear across campus to get it figured out. But the place wasn't open until 3:30 and it was only 2. Jaime and I had lunch and then I went to get my schedule while he went to some stupid meeting. I waited for like 45 minutes and nothing was happening, so I decided to go back the next day. A friend I met while standing there, Andres, said he'd give me a ride home. However, I have only been in the city for 2 days and didn't really know it that well. Needless to say, we got really lost and ended up heading towards the city limits. We finally made it home ok, so it was a good trip.
That night I got a call from Luis, a friend of Jared, my friend and ex-prof, and he wanted to know if I wanted a little tour of the city. I of course accepted. He ended up taking me outside of the city, to a little, authentic village known as Villa de Santiago. It is very pretty in some parts and very not in others. For example, the buildings, as you can see below, are painted many different colors, but around the block, there will be a building that is collapsed and falling down with a jungle growing inside it.
After Santiago we stopped by a lake where there was dam. The dam is called Presa de Boca, or Mouth Dam. Nothing too interesting, but local scenary is always fun.
After the Dam he took me downtown to see some of the buildings there. We stayed in the car, but we saw the government building where the governor works, a couple of museums, a statue of the founder of the city, the plaza, and a bunch of other things. There is a huge Mexican flag in the middle of the city, up on a pole. And by huge, I mean it looks big from the mountain. And that was about it for the day.

Today:
Ate some chorizo for breakfast, which is spicy mexican sausage. Very good stuff. Went to the Tec at about 9 because we thought there was going to be a big long line for this stuff we had to turn in, turns out there was only like 10 people in front of us. I went to get my schedule stuff figured out while Jaime went wandering off. Turns out there was a conflict with my schedule, so I just dropped the class that was causing the problems. Here's my schedule:
Monday: 4-5:30 and 6-9
Tuesday: 10-11:30 and 2:30 - 4
Wednesday: 4-5:30
Thursday: 10-11:30 and 2:30 - 4
Friday: None!

Pretty easy, right? You damn right it is. That's how I like it.
After getting my schedule, I walked around campus for like 2 hours trying to find Jaime, finally giving up and started to walk home at about 12:15. I got home at 1:05. Yes, it's a very long walk, especially since it was very warm out today and very humid as well. All in all it was a very boring day, but I got a lot of excercise in, so that's a good thing. I talked to Ashley and my Mama today on the phone. Good times. Ashley had her teeth out today, she is doing ok, but not able to eat solid foods. I feel so sorry for her and wish I could be there to take care of her.
Well, that's all for now, talk to you all later.

Hey Scotty Dog! The pictures are great, keep them coming. The campus is really pretty, the water features are nice.

I'm a little surprised...the streets appear to be very clean. In one picture from your trip with Jared's friend it looks like stone streets!

I wish you were home to take care of Ashely too!

Take care, love and miss you.

You favorite Aunt Lee. ha ha
