Dia de Indpendencia

So this weekend is Independence Day for Mexico. Here's a little history on it. We all know, or should know, that Mexico fought for their independence and won it in 1821. August 24th to be exact. Now, the smart ones out there have put together that August 24th has already passed and that it cannot possibly be this weekend. Very good students, congratulations.
Why don't the Mexicans celebrate their independence on August 24th then? The same reason the we, in the States, don't celebrate our independence on September 3rd, when the Treaty of Paris was signed. We celebrate our independence on July 4th, which is when we actually declared the independence. Well the Mexicans do the same thing. September 16th is when they declared their independence.
The night before, which happens to be friday, the Mexicans go down to the Plaza of the city and yell ¡VIVA! I think I'm going to go to the MacroPlaza tomorrow night and participate. It sounds like fun to me.

Sorry for the lack of updates, but I'm a slacker. Something funny just happened in my class. My teacher was trying to say Peasant, but with his Mexican accent, it sounded like PissAnt.
